HoppingIn offers parents the ability to request a standby spot for their children at a particular daycare and we sometimes get the question if this costs money. The answer is that requesting a standby spot does not cost money unless the spot fulfills.

Let's back up a step and make sure that we're all on the same page about what's happening when you request a standby spot.

A standby spot means that the daycare does not have capacity for your child but might have a spot open for that date later. So, if you request a standby spot that means that you're in line to get a spot if one becomes available. Do you get charged for that spot when you request it? No you do not. However, if you've requested a standby spot and later that spot does become available then we'll fulfill the spot for you and charge your card.
